Week 15 MKMMA

I thought I would put a few thoughts done earlier than Friday 11:00PM to create a thinking blog. 🙂 Not that all of my blogs aren’t well thought out.

A new assignment this week is Franklin’s 13 week Makeover. Each week we pick a virtue to find in our life, whether it is in us or something we see around us. In filling in the form of virtues I noticed I couldn’t help thinking in my own head, I’m not putting them in the right order, even through Mark J said don’t get hung up on getting them in the right order. I started laughing at myself, it was funny. I explained my brain fart to Robin, who’s doing MKMMA also. We both smiled at each other.

Our Master Key reading this week is a thoughtful piece around our 15 minute sit. We are to focus our thoughts on, “…the fact that to have a knowledge of the creative power of thought does not mean to possess the art of thinking. Let the thought dwell on the fact that knowledge does not apply itself. That our actions are not governed by knowledge, but by custom, precedent, and habit. That the only way we can get ourselves to apply knowledge is by a determined conscious effort.”  For me I can see that I am a stick figure kind of guy when it comes to the art of thinking. And having learned to progress from stick figures in drawing to doing portraits of people through determined conscious effort, I now grasp the importance of our MKMMA classes and the thrust of the exercises. While not the only direction of all the exercises the Master Key is designed to have our thinking, the art of thinking, expand from stick figure thinking to Mona Lisa thinking.

My experience now is one of being able to concentrate my thinking and insights beyond stick figures to recognizable portraits. To one of being driven by a determined conscious effort of actions. I am delighted with what I have gained from MKMMA and where this is going. The fulfillment of my DMPs and much more.
